Running journey

  • Running

I got up today for a run realizing it was 15 years ago I started my running journey with a “couch to 5k” program that then carried me entering OROC 5k on August 27, 2010. 15 years, a few 5 and 10k races, half marathons (even one in a kilt), full marathon, 5 mile races, 20 mile race, relays, trail races and just running to run (Forest Gump style) I’m still hear running. Slower for sure and not as for or much as before, but still running. It’s not as easy as it used to be. COVID made me lazy and too complacent. It now takes far more effort and energy than it did when I was out of completely out of shape 15 years ago. But I will continue to run as long as I can and just have to keep reminding myself that this running journey has always been worth it because it is. I’m slowly getting back to a groove and starting to feel more energetic about running. Hopefully I can reflect on this moment in another 15 years and say the same.
