I’m excitedly in the midst of designing business cards and a blog site and feeling like a kid in a candy store with many grand ideas, but stressing to focus on singular ideas. No worries. I’ll figure it out. Pretty happy with the direction this far and can’t wait to show my work.

I’m in a pretty good place professionally and freelance wise right now. Freedom to design in the corporate world is a pleasant surprise. Happy to see some renewed focus to innovate and let us do our jobs. This certainly helps morale.

Feels good to be back at living to my self titled moniker “designer of things.”

Okay all kidding aside would people giving a presentation, with said evil app, please have someone else present it TO you before forcing it on me. At the end if you are bored, restless, distracted or _________ (fill in the blank) then it’s time to trash it! You don’t need it. The best thing is to present like a person and your words be the focus. 30 seconds after the slide with all of “your have to have important numbers” are now lost from my mind. Stop showing me your swanky (or lame) background graphic slide. Presentations have become the medium to hide behind. They now are the false crutch for you to hide behind. I don’t give a rat’s rectum how well the slide is “designed” it’s still a powerpoint slide with the same lame transitions as the next 50 guys have used in the presentation before you. If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck it’s still a duck right? Same goes for Powerpoint. Is anyone equipped to give a presentation with the said app?

I’m sick of this world where a slide is considered design. It’s not. Wake up people! Stop this insanity.

So here I find myself having not posted in 2 full moons and that’s a drag! A crime? Perhaps it’s time to compile a weekly list of my personal favorites just like so many others do? Perhaps I could start a weekly sketch post? Will I even find the time or self motivation? We’ll see about that.
